Storm in a teacup ☕

Although the affects and demolition caused by storm Babet are severe in some places, I thought condensing it into a teacup might make it a bit more manageable from the careers perspective.

Firstly, lets look at the main affects of the storm.

> 4 deaths that are results of the storm.

> Currently 300 flood warnings across UK.

> 2 severe storm warnings currently in the Retford area.

> 500 homes have been evacuated.

Looking at it on this scale is quite shocking; seeing the images on news reports, and knowing or being one of the people affected can be catastrophic. What we feel, where ever we are in this aftermath, can be hard to deal with. But then we need to think about the physical damage, how they can be dealt with immediately and then moving forward.

I apologise for the ones that I've missed.

The purpose of this blog is to acknowledge a natural disaster happening around us, to open up to some of the professionals that play a part in supporting people through these natural disasters, and to recognise where we might fit into supporting people, if that is something you want to do in the future.
