Changing Times

I'm sure we can all look back over our lives and recollect how much times have changed since we were young. If we look at every part of our daily life, the changes are phenomenal!!

Looking around me at my television, washing machine, the shower, etc, they're all relatively new, compared to 50 years. Not to mention the computer I'm using to write this, and the mobile phone next to me.

This got me thinking about careers and how it is an ever evolving and growing environment (which people can struggle to keep up with). But when we look at different aspects of careers like equality and diversity, data protection (new GDPR) and safeguarding; to name a few; the ways they have changed and grown is outstanding. However there is still so much more that needs to be learnt and changed as we go forwards.

In my personal opinion, we should occasionally look at the past to see how things have changed on a wider perspective.

On a personal note; over the weekend I watched a film with one of my children (Suffragette), with which she was fascinated with. She was constantly asking questions about why different things were happening, and suddenly became aware of how different things were.

If we do it properly; reviewing the past; how things have changed; evaluating the present and how we can improve and make changes moving forward; it can be very empowering.
