A week of kindfulness

# Day 1 - Promoting kindfulness, and the offer of free support for those in need!

# Day 2 - After it being announced on the news last night that the UK has its highest level of people in poverty for 20 years I wanted to share these four charities, all offering slightly different things to those affected! https://www.trusselltrust.org who provide food banks and support for those in poverty

https://www.instagram.com/the_beauty_banks/?hl=en who provide hygiene products to those in need! Simple things like a razor for a man to shave, shower gel to wash with, and sanitary products for women for those in need

https://wais.org.uk provide support and refuge for women which includes the domestic support line https://sharewearclothingscheme.org which provides clothing for those in need. Although this is based in Nottingham, there will be similar schemes across the country!

# Day 3 - Jobs in charity work aren't often spoken about, but there are many roles available both paid and voluntary. Here are 10 roles in charity work:

1. Charity Director

2. Charity Fundraiser

3. Grants Officer

4. Archivist

5. Substance Misuse Outreach Worker

6. Forestry Worker

7. Volunteer Organiser

8. Community Development Worker

9. Counsellor

10. Charity Shop Manager

All have different entry requirements and can be found in many different charitable organisations.

# Day 4 - I felt quite moved today listening to the impact Anne Hagerty has made for people with learning difficulties. The young boy that has written her a personal letter to thank her for showing him is not the only one that is autistic, is amazing. With this in mind I am going to share charities that help people with learning difficulties (or SEND). But due to my initial plan being to focus on Mental Heath Charities, due to it being one of the biggest killers in the UK, I am going to do both. It works quite well that some charities that support people with learning difficulties, also support people with Mental Health issues.

Here are 5 charities specifically for people with learning difficulties and appropriate support:

1. National Autistic Society

2. Mencap

3. Bipolar UK

4.United Response

5. A Place To Call Our Own (APTCOO) in Nottinghamshire, other charities similar that are area specific.

Here are 5 Mental Health Charities:

1.Samaritans

2. Rethink Mental Illness

3. Mental Health Foundation

4. Sane

5. Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)

As for ones that support both:

1. MIND

2. Scope

3. Mercy Ships (providing free surgeries for the poor)

Getting support and relating to others are more prevalent in both of these issues. Therefore the charities could be the first step in the right direction.

# Day 5 - It's so annoying that Jim Davidson and Bobby Davro went on GMB to promote the charity 'Care after Combat' and the show that they are doing to raise awareness and donate money to it. But the headlines are running on what he shared about the BBC!!!They could have changed the headline to promote the charity too!!#armedforces #careaftercombat

After putting the post earlier today about 'Care After Combat' charity, I have decided to share charities for the armed forces! As we hear so many terrible stories about our veterans!!

Here are 10:

1. Care after Combat www.careaftercombat.org

2. SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity ssafa.org.ukwww.ssafa.org.uk/ssafa/armed-forces

9. The Regular Forces Employment Associationwww.rfea.org.uk

10. Blesma: Military Charity for Limbless Veterans https://blesma.org

They put themselves at risk for the UK (in different ways), so I think we should do our bit to say thank you!!#armedforces #supporttheircharities
